4. Nurse With Wound has been Steven Stapleton’s main musical outlet for some 30 years. He has also appeared on records by other artists and worked as a producer, remixer and, more recently, a critcially acclaimed soundtrack composer. As well as his musical output Stapleton is a highly accomplished and renowned painter and sculptor often working under the guise of ‘Babs Santini’.

6. Nurse With Wound's catalogue is dotted with the occasional 'song', between all the abstract sounds, and this is the earliest example. The midsection of the CD is given up to 'mawsookedoranj', or 'more sucked orange', suggesting a collection of snippets and offcuts a la those on A Sucked Orange.

7. Sinister Whimsy For The Wretched contains the long out-of-print albums, Sugar Fish Drink () and Large Ladies With Cake In The Oven (). Both discs are remastered by Andrew Liles. You will never hear these better. Sugar Fish Drink, "Cod Surrealism", is a distinctly wet aberration on paranoid aesthetics occasionally coordinated by John Balance and Steven Stapleton.
